PlanningBatch Production Schedule Excel Template
Plan future production batches in Excel with due dates, capacity and unit checks, changeover review, a future calendar, and an unscheduled list.
Plan production batches before production release. This Excel workbook uses production batches as the planning unit. Enter planned batch IDs, due dates, vessel or line, changeover family, required capacity, and capacity unit.
Calculated results show future sequence fit, capacity checks, changeover checks, and a scheduling result. The workbook produces a future batch calendar and an unscheduled batch list. The workbook is available as an Excel file for offline planning.
Its scope is limited to planning future batches. It does not record actual batch duration, yield, or completed production activity.

What this workbook helps you do
- See which planned batches calculate as Scheduled and which calculate as Unscheduled.
- Review planned batches in due-date order before production release planning.
- Find capacity conditions that need a missing reference, matching unit, or lower required capacity.
- Identify planned vessel or line sequences where the changeover family differs from the preceding scheduled batch.
Included sheets and controls
- Batch Schedule has input columns for planned batch ID, due date, vessel or line, changeover family, required capacity, and capacity unit.
- The vessel or line capacity reference range records vessel or line, available capacity, and capacity unit.
- Formula columns calculate future calendar order, vessel or line sequence, future sequence fit, capacity check, changeover check, and scheduling result.
- Dashboard shows the planning date, calculated counts, next scheduled batch preview, and current unscheduled batch preview.

How to use the workbook
1. Enter vessel or line capacities
On Batch Schedule, enter each vessel or line in the capacity reference range with its available capacity and capacity unit. Use the same unit text on the batch row and reference row. The workbook does not convert units.
2. Replace the illustrative batch rows
Enter planned batch ID, due date, vessel or line, changeover family, required capacity, and capacity unit in the yellow input cells. Rows 7 through 16 contain illustrative examples. The remaining input rows are blank for planning entries.
3. Review the calculated checks
Read Future Sequence Fit, Capacity Check, Changeover Check, and Scheduling Result for each entered batch. Calculated results depend on the entered batch and capacity reference values.
4. Use the output sheet for review
Review scheduled batches in due-date order on Future Calendar & Exceptions. Review the unscheduled batch list for batches that need additional planning input or do not fit the capacity check.
Capacity checks for planned batches
The Capacity Check compares a batch Required Capacity with the Available Capacity for its selected vessel or line. It also compares the batch Capacity Unit with the available capacity unit in the reference range.
No capacity unit conversion is performed. The displayed check can identify a capacity fit, capacity that exceeds the vessel or line, an unmatched unit, or a missing capacity reference value.
How future sequence fit is calculated
Future Sequence Fit requires an entered planned batch ID, a valid due date that is not before the workbook calculation date, a vessel or line, a changeover family, and a Capacity Check of Capacity fits.
The workbook assigns future calendar order by due date. Batches with the same due date follow their source-row order. This is a future planning sequence, not an actual production sequence.
Changeover checks by vessel or line
For batches that fit the future sequence, the workbook finds the preceding scheduled batch on the same vessel or line. It displays the previous planned batch ID and previous changeover family for later items in that sequence.
Changeover Check displays First planned batch on vessel or line, Same family continuation, Changeover review needed, or Changeover family needed. The changeover check is shown for planning review.
Future calendar and unscheduled list
The Future Calendar & Exceptions sheet displays scheduled batches in its future batch calendar with planned batch ID, due date, vessel or line, changeover family, capacity values, and calculated checks.
Its unscheduled batch list displays entered batches that do not fit the future sequence. A calculated scheduling result is not an authorization, release, or record of completed work.

Questions about this workbook
It plans future production batches before production release using planned batch IDs, due dates, vessel or line capacity, capacity units, and changeover families.
Enter planned batch ID, due date, vessel or line, changeover family, required capacity, and capacity unit on Batch Schedule. Enter available capacity and capacity unit for each vessel or line in the reference range.
No. Capacity Unit must match the unit recorded for the selected vessel or line. The workbook does not perform unit conversion.
A batch is calculated as Unscheduled when Future Sequence Fit does not display Fits future sequence. The displayed result may point to a due date, vessel or line, changeover family, capacity value, capacity unit, or vessel or line capacity reference condition.
No. Scheduling Result is based on Future Sequence Fit. Changeover Check separately compares the current changeover family with the preceding scheduled batch on the same vessel or line.
No. This workbook is an operational planning aid for future batches. It does not record actual duration, yield, or historical batch execution.
